The Security Providers Association of Australia Limited (SPAAL) is a national not-for-profit association and leading Approved Security Industry Association (ASIA) accredited for security licence holder membership under Security Industry legislation. Membership is available to all security service providers throughout Australia. In today’s highly regulated security industry it is imperative for licence holders’ to fully understand their compliance obligations, achieving and maintaining compliance and being able to dedicate the time and resources to the growth of their business. In 1966 a group of NSW senior security managers representing a wide cross section of government, industrial, commercial and retail organisations, sharing a common, professional career experience, usually commencing with prior employment as a police or armed services personnel, met to discuss and eventually form the Institute of Commercial and Industrial Security Executives (ICISE.) later changed to the Institute of security Executives (ISE). Today, the Security Providers Association of Australia Limited (SPAAL) carries on the proud traditions, ethics and objectives established in 1966 with a large and varied membership of security service providers.
The Association has always been at the forefront of endeavours to improve ethics, standards, quality of manufacture, installation, training and development of regulatory and statutory controls for the very diverse, technologically powered and human world that makes up the security industry of today and tomorrow.
